“The boys are all very excited about challenging themselves”
Ahead of the Holland Easter Open 2020, we caught up with Paula from Shaftesbury Blue’s to discuss how her side are feeling ahead of their participation in the upcoming tournament.
Paula stated that the club had been looking for a tournament where the boys could experience playing teams from other countries, and when a quick internet search uncovered the Holland Easter Open, Shaftesbury were quick to book their place.
The squad, who will be representing England in next Easter’s prestigious tournament, will be well backed on the sidelines, with a party of 42 friends and family making the journey to Holland. Paula explained that the club had undertaken a number of fundraising activities to help to cover the costs of the trip. “We have been volunteering at the Wirral 5km & 10km races, giving out t-shirts to finishers at the end of the race, in addition to hosting race nights and raffles.”
With the big kick-off fast approaching, Paula also insisted that excitement is growing amongst everyone at the club. In particular, “the boys are all very excited about challenging themselves against different teams, playing against different nationalities and travelling away together as a group.”
Finally, from a trip organiser’s perspective, Paula hopes that everyone at Shaftesbury Blue’s enjoy the entire experience from the coach to the airport and flight, to the accommodation and the football, making plenty of memories that will last a lifetime.
Everyone at Trans World Soccer is delighted to welcome Shaftesbury Blue’s to the Holland Easter Open 2020 and wish them all the best for the football ahead.
