Sale United | #MeetTheTeams | Holland Easter Open 2025

Ahead of the Holland Easter Open, we reached out to Coach Phil Robinson from Sale United FC to tell us about his U13s team. Phil was able to tell us about how the team is feeling about the upcoming tournament, what we can expect from them and what they hope to achieve this Easter.

We wanted to hear from Phil about the excitement amongst the team as the tournament approaches.

“We had a lot of positive response from the boys around the tournament and they are very excited to play in an international tournament and the trip as a whole.”

We asked Phil if the team has been doing anything in order to prepare for the tournament, and he shared with us the hard work the boys have been doing!

“The boys have been getting stuck in fundraising towards the trip and doing a great job. On the football side it’s business as usual, training hard and being competitive in their league fixtures.

We have players going from several u13 squads so plan to run a few specific training and team building sessions before the trip.”

Phil was more than happy to tell us what we can expect to see from Sale United out on the pitch.

“We are a very inclusive club and will have mixed ability players at the tournament. We’d like to think this will showcase how mixed ability teams can still compete at a decent level and how as a grassroots club we put the players first.

The coaches are always encouraging and supportive of the players and we hope this will show Sale United in a very positive light at the tournament.”

Discussing with Phil what this tournament could mean for the team, how will this affect them in the future?

“Very beneficial, we expect to see some exceptional teams at the tournament and hopefully we will play against some of them. This will only help improve the players and encourage them to improve their own skills.”

As coach, we asked Phil to give his team one last message of advice as Sale United prepare to take on the Holland Easter Open.

“I would advise the players to enjoy every minute, watch and engage with other teams and players and just be themselves.”

We wish them all best of luck for the upcoming tournament and can’t wait to see what they can do out on the pitch!
