The Trans World Soccer media team caught up with Gosport Borough’s head coach, Kevin Young, ahead of the club’s participation in next year’s Holland Easter Open.
After seeing a Facebook advert, Kevin was instantly drawn to the tournament as he saw it as the perfect fit for the Gosport lads to test themselves against European opposition and believed it would be a great overall experience for the squad.
With over 20 travelling including supporters, the whole group has been working hard with various fundraising activities, including a sponsored walk, a raffle and a quiz night with a live band!
Kevin went on to tell us how the children attending are “really excited”, most of all to play against other teams from all over Europe:
“From my point of view as a coach, I’m hoping the squad just have an amazing time and enjoy their football.”
This highlights that it is clearly not all about winning and Kevin believes that if the kids enjoy themselves and learn from the experience, the trip will have been a great success.
We would like to wish Gosport Borough all the best with their remaining fundraising activities and preparation for their trip of a lifetime!
