Newcastle International Summer Cup Returns for Fifth Edition

The Newcastle International Summer Cup returns this weekend for its fifth edition, welcoming 62 teams to Cochrane Park for two days of exciting pre-season football.

With clubs joining us from across England, Scotland, Ireland and the USA, this year’s tournament is set to be our biggest and most exciting yet – and we’re thrilled to be hosting the full weekend at Cochrane Park, Newcastle University’s state-of-the-art facilities.

One of the biggest additions this year is the introduction of an U12 Girls category – and we’re delighted to welcome debutants from Scotland, England and Ireland, including the exciting addition of Manulla Girls from Ireland, who make their first appearance at the tournament.

International side Hoosier FC make the trip once again from the USA and will compete in two age categories, bringing their energy back to Newcastle after an impressive showing in 2024.

We’re also looking forward to seeing our reigning champions in action – Newcastle City Juniors, last year’s U11 winners, and Walker Central, who lifted the U10 trophy in 2024, both return to defend their titles.

The action kicks off on Saturday 26th July with group stages across all age groups, before we head into knockout matches on Sunday 27th July – with silverware on the line and everything to play for.

And there’s so much more going on beyond the pitch! We’re excited to introduce the Unite Entertainment Zone beside Pitch 6, powered by our official partner Unite Teamwear, bringing even more energy and enjoyment to your event experience.

Pitch Parade will be on site with a Fun Zone offering football challenges and activities for all players and spectators – free to access as part of your event package.

Nearby, you’ll also find Eds Memorabilia showcasing a selection of football gear and collectables, along with face painting and ice cream available to purchase throughout the weekend.

And for those who can’t make it in person – every single match will be streamed live, exclusively on MYVEOHIRE. To get your access pass and view the full list of matches, click here.

Rory McBride, Head of Trans World Soccer, said:

“It’s amazing to see how far the Newcastle International Summer Cup has come in just five years.

This weekend marks another big step for the tournament — more teams, a new girls’ category, and an even better all-round experience for the players and families taking part.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Newcastle and wish all our teams the best of luck!”

You can follow all fixtures, results and standings through the Official Tournament App – just search Newcastle Intl. Summer Cup on the App Store or Google Play.

We’ll also be sharing photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes content across Trans World Soccer’s Facebook, Instagram, and X channels.

Once again, good luck to all teams and we’ll see you at Cochrane Park!
