DUSC 2010 | #MeetTheTeams | Holland Easter Open 2026

With the Holland Easter Open quickly approaching, we got the opportunity to speak to Dundee United Sports Club’s (DUSC) manager, Michael Connelly. We got a great insight into how the team are preparing for their trip to the Netherlands.

With the tournament being just around the corner we asked Michael to introduce the club and tell us about the excitement levels around the club.

“DUSC is a community-based grassroots football club based in Dundee, Scotland.

The club provides opportunities for players of different ages and abilities to take part in football and other sporting activities, while promoting teamwork, fitness, and a positive environment. The mood amongst the players is really positive and energetic.

Everyone is excited to be part of the tournament, and there’s a strong sense of motivation within the squad.”

Next, we asked how the club is preparing for the tournament and what Michael believes the club will bring to the Netherlands.

“We have been training twice a week throughout the season and have recently added an extra high-intensity fitness session with a local gym to push the players even further.

We also recently competed in our national trophy semi-finals (Scottish cup), which gave the squad valuable experience. Our team will bring a lot of energy, commitment, and a strong team spirit to the tournament.

At the same time, we’re looking forward to enjoying the experience and testing ourselves against strong opposition.”

Michael continued to say how the tournament will be a big test for the lads.

“It will be very beneficial for the players to test themselves against different opposition.

Playing against new teams with different styles helps the boys learn, adapt, and improve their game. It also gives them valuable experience in a competitive environment and helps build confidence.

Opportunities like this are important for the development of the squad and will help the players continue to grow both individually and as a team.”

The manager then gave the team some valuable words of advice.

“My advice to the team would be to enjoy the experience, stay focused and give their best in every match.

Tournaments like this are a great opportunity to test yourselves against strong opposition, so it’s important to stay confident, work hard for each other, and play as a team.

If we do that and stick to the way we want to play, I’m sure the players will do themselves and the club proud.”

The DUSC’s captain then provided a short but strong quote ahead of the tournament.

“Leading this team is a privilege and representing it at this tournament means everything.”
