With Easter fast approaching, the Holland Easter Open is just around the corner! As part of this #MeetTheTeams series, we had the chance to speak with Rikki Wilson, Head Coach of the Clydebank FC 2010s. Rikki gave us insight into how the team has been preparing, how they’re feeling ahead of the big trip, and what we can expect as they head to the Netherlands to compete on the European stage.
Rikki shared how the players are feeling in the lead-up to the tournament:
“The boys are very excited about taking part in the tournament and can’t wait to challenge themselves against teams from all over!”
When asked about their preparation, Rikki praised the team’s consistent approach and growth mindset:
“We are focused on our league form and hope to take a good run into the tournament.”
Beyond the football, we wanted to know what kind of spirit Clydebank will bring to the pitch.
“Passion, excitement, a great football style!” was Rikki’s confident reply.
We also discussed what competing in a European tournament like the Holland Easter Open means for the club and players:
“It’s extremely important that they get the chance to compete against teams from outside their league and country. The only way they’ll improve is by testing themselves!”
Finally, we asked Rikki to share a final message for the team before they head out to represent Clydebank FC on the European stage:
“Go, have fun, enjoy the chance to play at this level and bring back positive memories even if we don’t win the tournament.”
